Biography

Born Feb. 2, 1930, in the Ukraine...came to Huntsville In 1966..known as the Father of Soccer in Alabama, he coached at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for 20 years...had won nearly 250 games going into the 1989 season, his last at UAH..eight of his players were NAIA All-Americans..his Chargers have been NAIA National Southern State champions once (1972), District 27 champions 16 times, and area champions seven times...Alabama Gov. George Wallace proclaimed Soccer Week in Alabama in 1974 to honor his team...the NAIAs winningest mens soccer coach (as of 1989)...played soccer in Europe and pro soccer in New York and Chicago. - served in the Marines...has degrees from Vanderbilt and the University of Munich, and has done post Doctoral studies and research at Harvard.
